Each teaching unit involves problems pertinent to society and the every day and shows how chemistry can provide solution. An excellent resource for chemistry teachers everywhere.

The site provides a nice background into semiconductors, junctions, radiative and non-radiative transitions, edge-emitting lasers and vertical cavity surface emitting lasers everything the lay chemist needs to know to get involved in the kind of multidisciplinary developments that led to last year's Nobel Prize...for instance.
