   PSIgate

PSIgate
(http://www.PSIgate.ac.uk/)

PSIgate is a free internet service that offers access to high quality web resources in the physical sciences with something like 11,044 resources in astronomy, chemistry, earth sciences, materials sciences, physics, and science history and policy. A great place to start searching for physical sciences information as results from conventional search engines are often far too broad. PSIgate also publishes the Spotlight Science Magazine but I will leave comment on that section of the site to others, for obvious reasons.

ChemWeb

ChemWeb
(http://www.ChemWeb.com)

At the time of writing ChemWeb was in transition, having started life as an online community for chemists in 1997 and providing a virtual stamping ground for yours truly in the form of The Alchemist webzine, it has now been taken over by ChemIndustry.com and will have been relaunched by the time you read this. If you were already a ChemWeb member, now is a good time to take a second look and if you haven't visited ChemWeb before, you will find a plethora of chemical resources at your disposal.

   European Centre for Chemistry Education

European Centre for Chemistry Education
(http://www.soton.ac.uk/~ecchemed/)

European Centre for Chemistry Education provides a focus for educators across Europe to exchange images for use in multiple-language multimedia chemistry teaching resources. The site claims to be minimizing the reinvention of the wheel that is so often seen in terms of producing videos and animations. Details of products and projects can be found here.
